HUMAN

Humans are the most prolific race in the World of Serant, specifically in the Lands of Sera. Their true strength lies in their ability to adapt to any environment and assimilate knowledge gained from others to improve their own society. Physically they are a very average humanoid.

Humans have a long history in the World of Serant. They’ve flourished at three separate times. First, early during the Age of Dragons, their primitive dedication to the Gods created a savage world of chaos. Humans almost vanished from Serant as a result of a much larger struggle of Good and Evil. Next, toward the end of the Age of Dragons, they began to flourish with the knowledge provided by the Order of the Unbroken. In a short time they began establishing strong and distinct ethnic groups (the Hinol, Vineer, Shone, and Neand) in the various areas of southern Sera, they built numerous settlements and prospered. But this enlightened era came to an end with the Age of Monsters.

It wasn’t that long ago when Humans barely scraped out an existence in the rocky highlands and mountains, along with Dwarves and the Hauflin. They once lived in great settlements and worshipped at their elaborate stone temples. But these were abandoned when the hordes of monsters arrived. They swarmed from the east and across the fertile lowlands, coasts, and plains of south Sera. These places now became the domain of monsters and terror. After centuries had past and humans were nearing extinction again, the Cataclysm of Flood breathed new life into southern Sera. The flood decimated all but those in the highland areas.

The Humans now left their highland refuge and flourished once again, expanding in every direction in the World of Serant. The Neand and Vineer moved east, and would later become the Vigh and Sirean people. The Shone split into two tribes, half remaining in the highlands and retaining the old ways, while others moved south, and would become the Avar. The Hinol moved south and west and would later become the Ison and Yshuran people. Now, generations later, these great people dominate southern Sera with great cities, grand temples, and powerful armies.  Each of these Human Groups has developed their own unique cultural qualities.
